Species: Bucephalandra sp. ‘Catherinae’
Bucephalandra is a plant that occurs naturally in Borneo, where it grows in fast moving rivers and streams. This has led it to evolve the ability to anchor itself onto rocks, wood or other surfaces to avoid been swept away.
Bucephalandra is our primary plant in all of our shrimp tanks. Due to its slow growing nature, it makes it an ideal plant for a breeding tank, as it does not require much, if any maintenance.
- Bucephalandra can be attached to aquarium hardscape.
- Do not plant Bucephalandra in your substrate or cover the rhizome, as this will result in the plant rotting.
- Remove the cotton surrounding the roots attach to a rock, wood or other hardscape.
